Diana Hyslop

Pink

For me, the thought of having to expose who I am triggers a feeling of shyness, blushing, a certain loss of innocence… This series started off as a visual engagement with body language, but as I started exploring the theme I became aware that, despite our best efforts, our bodies tend to expose our attempts to protect ourselves from revealing our vulnerabilities.

The motivation behind this Pink series was about holding on to a lost youth – about confronting my own transition into my fifties, but also about letting go of my shyness in order to become more visible in the world again.
